Maine Education Foundation (MEF) Grant Program

The Maranacook Education Foundation (MEF) is pleased to request proposals for its 2019 grant awards.  MEF, founded in 2006, is a non-profit, charitable organization serving the communities of Fayette, Manchester, Mount Vernon, Readfield and Wayne.  The MEF grant program seeks to support initiatives that benefit learners of all ages and has awarded over $50,000 to date. Members of schools, community or non-profit organizations in the district may apply. It is important to note that there has been a high rate of applications being awarded over the years so all interested applicants should apply.

MEF grants ($250.00 - $1000.00) will be awarded based on how projects:

  • enhance existing curricula,

  • impact under-served populations,

  • promote collaboration among schools and community,

  • build educational infrastructure,

  • promote health, or

  • break down barriers to education

Application materials and information about the review process may be found on our Grant Guidelines page of our website.  Questions may also be directed to Board Member Rick Wilson at r.wilson195510@gmail.com or 207-242-0855.

Proposals are due October 19, 2019.   Grant award notification will be in early December.  Projects must have a timeline that begins in December 2019, with final report due at the end of project period. Please review the grant guidelines carefully before submitting your proposal.

Other projects selected for previous awards are listed on the MEF website.
